STORE HOGGS
Trade for stores at J36 remained as high as ever this week, with a good turnout for buyers to pick from. Today’s average finished at £105.82, this was a very good trade considering the number of close to finished hoggs was much less than a fortnight ago.
Topping today’s trade was a pen of Texels from Neil Strickland, Whinfell achieving £154. The same vendor also had a quality run to follow with another pen at £144. Mules were once again in hot demand, with an average of £112 and topping at £140 from S Robinson, Penrith. There was a large number of hill hoggs forward, with no let-up in the prices of recent times. The large number of this category would influence the average today, but none the less trade was as good as the previous week.
Store sales at J36 continuing to attract plenty of clients from all across the board, demand is still very high and we welcome anyone wishing to sell or buy.
Please contact the office or any of the auctioneers for more information or advice regarding marketing your hoggs.
