PRIME LAMBS

A fantastic Beltex x lamb from D&K Swarbrick, Out Rawcliffe sold to a top of £147 with this good home also selling other pens of heavy weight Texel x lambs to £139. Heavy Continental lambs were regularly selling at £130 plus, with medium types regularly selling at £110 to £118 or 270p/kg to 280p/kg. More hill lambs were on offer today with Mules selling to £119 from R Capstick & Son, Ingleton and Mashams selling to £114 from S&J France, Over Wyresdale. An overall averaged of 264p/kg was achieved.

CAST SHEEP

More ewes on offer today with a sharper trade seen for all types, Suffolks sold to a top of £175 from DJ Casson & Son, Slyne with Texel ewes topping at £144 from CA&J Alty & Son, Warton who also sold Mules to £128 twice. The real heavy Mules sold either side of £120 mark. Medium fit types were regularly selling over £100. Hill ewes saw Cheviots sell to £126 from A&J Smith, Ingleton with a ring full of Swaledale from DM Eames, Abbeystead selling to £69.
